I’ve always wanted to be able to easily get Google Ads Keyword Planner data to Google Sheets. The best case scenario was to provide inputs in a Google Sheet and then have “some magic” download the data in the background without me actually going to Google Ads. I guess the “magical times” are finally here.
Integromat supports Google Ads since February 2022. One of the available modules in Integromat’s “Google Ads Campaign Management” app allows you to run custom API calls which unlock the full potential of Google Ads API. You can touch literally anything in Google Ads with Integromat if you have a basic understanding of terms such as HTTP requests and JSON structures.
The first challenge I tackled was the KW Planner “dream”. My task was to:
- Have a configuration spreadsheet in Google Sheets.
- Post the config variables to an Integromat webhook via a custom menu in my config spreadsheet (a small G Apps script needed here).
- Have Integromat process the config inputs and tap into the Google Ads API.
- Return the KW Planner results from Google Ads API back to the spreadsheet.
And yes it’s possible! See the video below. KW Planner stats from from Google Ads directly flow to my Google Sheet without even opening the Google Ads UI. How cool is that?
